In cupping therapy a suction cup-like tool is applied to a person’s skin to address the underlying sore tissue. In this way, cupping is much like a massage from the inside out warming up the muscles and alleviating tension. When cups are applied to the skin they offer suction, called negative pressure, to separate stuck, stiff muscles and joints to encourage blood flow, reduce pain, and increase range of motion (ROM).

The cups are placed in various arrangements on the body and are left in place for 30 seconds to several minutes.

Our joints, muscles and fascia become stiff from stressful lifestyles, repetitive motions, injuries, dehydration, inflammation – all symptoms of feeling “stuck” range of motion patterns or restriction in our ability to move freely.
