CBD Oil

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a natural compound used for many common ailments. Cannabidiol is derived from the hemp plant and contains 0.3% THC. While THC is the active ingredient in marijuana known for its euphoric, ‘high’ effects, CBD is a phytocannabinoid that is non-psychotoxic. With only 0.3% THC in PlusCBD Oil, this minute amount does not result in a euphoric, ‘high’ feeling.

Benefits of CBD

  1. Helps Relieve Pain
  • The human body contains a specialized system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). This system is responsible for regulating a variety of functions ranging from sleep, appetite, pain responses and immune function. The body naturally produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to specific receptors in the ECS. Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters. (1)

  • In a study of 47 people with Multiple Sclerosis, those treated with CBD oil for 1 month experienced a significant improvement in pain, walking and muscle spasms. (2)

  • In a study of 58 people with Rheumatoid Arthritis, those treated with CBD & THC oil significantly improved pain during movement, pain at rest and sleep quality. (3)

 2.  Reduce Anxiety and Depression
  • Depression is the #1 largest contributor to disability worldwide while anxiety disorders rank 6th. CBD acts on the brain’s receptors for serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and social behavior. In one study, 24 people with social anxiety disorder received either 600 mg of CBD or a placebo before a public speaking test. The group that received CBD had significantly less anxiety, cognitive impairment and discomfort in their speech performance compared to placebo group. (4)

  • CBD oil has also been used to safely treat insomnia and anxiety in children with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (5)

 3.  Alleviate Cancer-Related Symptoms
  • CBD helps reduce symptoms related to cancer and side effects such as nausea, vomiting and pain. (6)

  • Some test-tube studies have shown CBD to have anti-cancer properties. One test-tube study found that concentrated CBD induced cell death in human breast cancer cells. (7)

 4.  Reduce Acne
  • Acne is a skin condition affecting 9% of the population and is thought to be caused by factors such as genetics, bacteria, underlying inflammation and overproduction of sebum. CBD oil may help treat acne due to its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to reduce sebum production. (8)

 5.  Neuroprotective Properties
  • CBDs ability to act on the ECS and other signaling systems of the brain can provide benefits for those with neurological disorders. A study involving 214 people with severe epilepsy were given 0.9-2.3 grams of CBD oil per pound of body weight. Their seizures reduced by a median of 36.5%! (9)

  • Treatment with CBD has been shown to improve quality of life and quality of sleep for people with Parkinson’s disease. (10)

 6.  Benefit Heart Health
  • CBD has been linked with several benefits for the heart and circulatory system, including the ability to lower high blood pressure. One study treated 10 healthy men by administering 600 mg of CBD oil and found reduced resting blood pressure as well as smaller blood pressure increases in response to stress tests. (11)
